One magical time a year, the Specialty Food Association's Summer Fancy Food Show descends upon NYC, bringing lots of good eats and treats. For three days straight, attendees eat and drink and be merry with over 1,000 purveyors peddling their sweet, savory, sour and spicy delicacies.

Scream for Ice Cream
It's summer in the city, and when the back of your neck gets dirty and gritty, it's time for ice cream. America's favorite hot weather treat came from all regions, flavors and formats at the show. Some my favorites included Magnolia "Best of the Philippines" ice cream (with local Filipino flavors such as ube and sweet corn), San Francisco favorite Humphry Slocombe (their Blue Bottle brand coffee flavor is to die for!) and my/mo mochi's fabulous mochi bar.

I've loved Jelly Belly jelly beans since I was a young child and it's amazing to see how much the company has expanded its flavor offering throughout the years (i.e. Harry Potter beans, Tabasco beans, the list goes on and on!)

Popcorn Galore
Just like in the Winter Fancy Food show earlier this year in San Francisco, popcorn was all the rage. However, this is not your run of the mill movie theater butter corn - no, this is your gourmet flavored and sometimes kern-less popcorn worthy of a "fancy food" show.

No Erik Estrada was not at the show to promote any chip brands (it was candy actually), but he caused a great deal of fan-girl/boy-ing while walking the aisles.
