Comfort Food Classics at Harding's New York City

By: Finance Foodie

As Fall comes to full swing in the Big Apple, there really isn't any better way to feel all warm and cozy than an All-American comfort food brunch. Therefore, this past weekend, the Mister and I took a trip to the Flatiron district to check out Harding's new "Tastes of American" autumn brunch menu.
The Aloha

When we walked into Harding's, I felt like I was transported back to Colonial America due to the resto's cool retro rustic decor. We were seated right next to the window at table with two super cute and comfy sofa chairs - the best seats in the house IMHO. Feeling relaxed, I started my brunch off with the Aloha ($11), a highly potent orange / pineapple juice, peach liquor and champagne concoction that definitely helped me say ALOHA to the afternoon!
The Benedict
For my main meal, the Mister and I shared a classic Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon ($14) and the more festive Vanilla Bourbon Battered Toast with orange pecan butter and Vermont maple syrup ($13). The Eggs Benedict was divine - a simple dish yet prepared to perfection.
Vanilla Bourbon Battered Toast
However, the Vanilla Bourbon Battered Toast was a real treat. The bread was light and fluffy with a hint of vanilla and Bourbon, but the dish was made rich and hearty by the butter and syrup. Boozy, sweet, nutty, and citrusy -- this dish had a little of everything that hit all the tastebuds in just the right way.

Harding's is an all-around great place for brunch - chill atmosphere, convenient location, and a menu filled with delicious yet affordable food. I'm glad I discovered this gem - only a train ride away for a fantastic meal!
