J. Cole Headlines Don Julio Tequila Super Bowl XLVIII Weekend Celebration at Liquid Cellar

Last Friday night, I attended Don Julio Tequila's exclusive afterhours event celebrating Don Julio 1942 to kick off Super Bowl weekend. Music was curated throughout the night by superstars DJ Ruckus and DJ Politik and the "black tie - your way" attired guests sipped on specialty Don Julio cocktails.

The event kicked off at midnight (11:42pm to be exact) at The Liquid Cellar, an event space in NYC's trendy Meatpacking District that was set up by Diageo that played host to a week long parties leading up to the big game. The ground floor was transformed into a mock Delta Sky Lounge - complete with flight attendant hostesses, mini packets of peanuts, a commemorative photo booth, and (most importantly) - the lounge bar.

Downstairs was a massive club area - DJ Ruckus and DJ Politik were on the main stage and dancers on podiums swayed seductively to beat. Around 2am, special guest J. Cole took the stage and performed his smash hit "Workout" to hyped and energetic crowd. VIPs in the midst included: actresses Nina Dobrev and Jamie Chung, actors Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Phillippe, and Naughty by Nature - who jumped on stage around 3am for another surprise performance of "Hip Hop Hooray".
