Taste Testing McDonald's Mighty Wings

Just in time for the Fall season, McDonald’s brought back the popularity and fun of chicken wings to customers seeking any time and any reason to enjoy them. McD's Mighty Wings are a natural bone-in chicken wing that comes in two varieties, a drummette or a wingette. They are breaded to provide a crispy bite of home-style flavor and seasoned with cayenne and chili pepper for an extra kick of spice. For a customized flavor experience, customers can pair their wings with one of nine sauces (including my personal fave - the Tangy BBQ!).

I tested these babies out and what were my thoughts? McD's must have access to some farm with mighty large and fatty chickens - hence the "Mighty" name, I guess! Although a bit too spicy for my taste (these wings are off the hook hot in my spice chart), the thick crispy bread coating (feels like they did breading on top of breading) and the size of the wings make them a pretty legit filling meal. One thing to note, the largeness of the wings makes for an awkward fit for the dipping sauce package - so it's better to pour the sauce on instead of doing the traditional dunk. Mighty Wings are available in three portion sizes to fit individual eating preferences. While price and participation may vary, customers can choose from: Three piece – 290 calories; $2.99, Five piece – 480 calories; $4.79 , or Ten piece – 960 calories; $8.99.
