Sizzling Summer 4th of July Party with Frito Lay

Frito-Lay has the perfect summer snack for however you celebrate, whether you’re relaxing and unwinding at home with Lay’s Classic potato chips or celebrating summer with Tostitos Scoops! tortilla chips at a house party.

Chips Overload! 

Therefore, when Frito-Lay asked me to help them ring in summertime with a potluck party featuring their chips, of course I said yes! Since I have a few weeks until I start my first real job, I gathered my closest friends from home and threw a "Fantastic 4th" party at my home in Texas. Here are a few scenes from the event!

What was the most loved food item at my party? Not surprisingly, my creations - the Corn and Black Bean Bites (pictured below) and the Grilled Mushroom Salad (pictured above). My guests loved paring it with all the Frito-Lay chips - you gotta admit, it's a lot more creative than your usual salsa dip. I got the idea for the Corn and Black Bean Bites from the Frito-Lay recipe website and the Grilled Mushroom Salad is simply an old trick that my mother taught me - a dash of olive oil, a few onions, chopped mushrooms, throw on the skillet and you are ready to go!
