BlackBerry Curve 9350: Simple And Sleek

By: Anne M. Raso

I am a ten-year BlackBerry user who stands firm in their beliefs that no other device works as well for someone who has to write at least 100 emails a day. The Qwerty keypad is God's gifts to those of us who want to type fast and get through at least five email replies per minute. The raised keys are just the perfect size and "feel" for feminine fingertips. Sure, the iPhone might be proud of its browsing capabilities and virtual keypad, but nothing beats BlackBerry in my estimation. The browser is just great on the Curve 9350 and it is a device that will only cost you a couple hundred bucks--and usually only about $50 if you actually sign a contract with a phone carrier.

I do intend to check out both the Q10 and Z10 but I like the lightweight feel of the Curve 9350 and how I can put it in my pocket when I do not want to carry a purse. At 4 1/3 inches long by about 2 1/2 inches wide by about 1/3 inch thick, the Curve 9350 is just the right size to fit in the palm of your hand. It has a glossy black front surface that is attractive and sleek. The 9350 comes with all the social media you want already installed, including Facebook and Twitter, and when you Google, you'll find that the pages download quickly.

This is considered an "entry level" BlackBerry that is particularly good for teens, but as a working journalist in her early 50s, I find this to be a perfect device. I am especially fond of the camera, which takes a very clear photo (even better than an iPad and iPhone) and it's great that you can store dozens of them--and that they are so easy to share immediately on the social media sites.

For video fanatics, the YouTube app is already downloaded and your clips are shown crystal clear. You will be impressed with the resolution. This model does not get a lot of ink, but I am giving it some right now. If you want something simple and reliable--with at least eight hours of battery power on a full charge--check out the 9350!
