Anne Around Town: Save Love Give, Breakfast at Tiffany and Toys Toys Toys

By: Anne M. Raso

The Seven Bar Foundation held a party to launch its VERA campaign--which channels dollars overspent on wireless bills into microfinance to help underprivileged women start small businesses--at the Riverview Terrace at the UN last week. The event was not only for a good cause was a beautiful space--picture a beautiful white tent perched on the East River directly across from that wonderful and legendary Pepsi factory sign! The view looking at Queens from Manhattan is indeed an underrated one. A lot of fashionistas and New York's "crème de la crème" society folks showed up for this event that included a fashion show, including stylist to the stars Phillip Bloch, former CFDA executive director Fern Mallis and Countess LuAnn De Lesseps. If you would like to learn more about the charity and possibly donate, go to www.savelovegive.com.

Bridal Gown designer Sarah Jassir hosted beauty and lifestyle writers in her midtown showroom last week to enjoy specialty drinks and watch a model get a bridal makeover by wedding makeup artist Tiffany Bartok. The event was officially titles Breakfast At Tiffany (even though it was held in the evening) and the effervescent Bartok fielded beauty questions from the crowd after her presentation and journalists couldn't help but ogle the dozens of gowns in the simple but elegant showroom including how to handle wedding day makeup disasters.

Freeman PR held a pre Toy Fair sneak preview at the W Hotel in Times Square recently. The Wish Factory line was the one most eye popping for the pre-teen crowd as they are launching the Carly Rae Jepsen Singing Doll and Singing Microphone soon (official photos have not been released and journos were not allowed to shoot them at the event). Of course, Wish Factory is also continuing their line of One Direction merchandise this year for the teenybopper set as everything they put out last year flew off the toy store shelves!

For toddlers and babies, there were adorable Cloud B toys, which included the adorable Tranquil Crab And Starfish, plush characters that offer unique sights and calming sounds for little ones. The oceans sounds might actually be able to put your little ones to sleep although we did not personally test it as such! Since Freeman also handles PR for the legendary Entenmann's Bakery (who is also celebrating its 40th anniversary this year), at the end of the toy preview, journos were asked to pick a Mrs. Rich Frosted--possible mate to the famous Rich Frosted Donut that is the backbone of the company. Press was offered to take a box home and I was tempted to take one, but oh, but they were a very possible and dangerous New Year's diet breaker!
