Make Your Own Pie: Rustic Crust Pizza Party in Boston

By: Finance Foodie

A few weeks ago, I attended my first mommy bloggers party. Although everyone was super nice, I have to confess that I did have a bit of trouble relating to (or caring about) all the kid talk that flitted about the room. I like children, but I have no earthly idea how to potty train a toddler, nor do I want to know for at least a few years...

So why did I attend this event? Because the lure making my own pizza using Rustic Crust pizza dough was too enticing to pass up! Not only is pizza one of my most “splurge” favorite foods in the world, but I had also heard many good things from my natural food enthusiast friends about the Rustic Crust product – so no brainer, I simply had to taste test these babies myself. When I arrived at the Boston Children’s Museum, I was greeted to this sweet spread:
You had me at pepperoni…
Even though I’ve been known to polish off a whole pie all by myself in college, the older (and lower metabolism-ed) me thought it wise to share a pie. This is the pie Baby Rambutan, MomCooksDadCooks, and FinanceFoodie (me) made. My half third had broccoli, cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, chicken, and olives. Or as I like to call this: "The Backed Up Kitchen Sink."
Brad Sterl, the CEO of Rustic Crust was also at the party and talked about why he started the company when our pizzas were in the oven. Basically, he wanted healthy, convenient but YUMMY options to serve his kids when he became a father. What a good man!

The final product - hot, bubbly, and fresh out of the oven! MMMMMMMM!
I’m still confused as why I got invited to this gathering (does my blog give off a “motherly” instinct?), but whatever man – I got to try a cool new product and was introduced to a whole new world of bloggers! No qualms about it, I’m definitely not calling Papa Johns next time I get a pizza craving – Rustic Crust FTW!

****GIVEAWAY****
Congrats #13 - Zeitersouth!

So during the party, there were lovely martini glasses, Christmas tree ornaments, and other hand-painted goodies from HuePhoria at each table that were raffled off at the end. I didn’t win (cause my luck at winning drawings are basically never)but  no fear! The just as lovely president of HuePhoria Kathy sent over these cute beyond words “Larry the Lobster” salt and pepper shakers not long after the event.
How did she know my other favorite food was lobster??? ;)

Now you can win a pair of shakers too (or one of their hand painted martini or wine glasses) because HuePhoria wants to give a lucky reader a gift too!

There are THREE ways to enter:
1. In my comments section, tell me if what prize you want to win and what design (choose from salt & pepper shakers, martini glass, or wine glass)
2. Follow Finance Foodie on Twitter (leave separate comment telling me this)
3. Reblog / Retweet this giveaway (leave separate comment telling me this)

Contest ends November 7, 2010 at 5pm EST. Winners will be chosen via random integer generator on random.org announced on the financefoodie.com site shortly afterwards that night!
