This past Saturday for lunch, I headed over to Turner Fisheries for their Bloodypalooza festival, a weekly event where patrons can make their own customized bloody mary drinks. I was pretty excited about this event, even though I’m not much of bloody mary fan, because I’ve been wanting to check Turner Fisheries out for a while now (I always passed by the place on my walk home from work). Plus, the event was hosted by CitySearch Boston, so I knew I’d be in the company of food enthusiasts/CitySearch contributors whose recommendations I read on a daily basis when I plot my next meal.
When I arrived, I was greeted by a fully loaded bar – with 5 different vodkas, 4 different bloody mary mixes, and A MOTHERLOAD of FRESH SEAFOOD for garnishing. Jackpot baby!
You had me had hello... |
With all the choices, I couldn’t decide on just one. So like any good foodie, I tried all of them! My favorite out of the ones I tried was traditional mix with Lobster tail garnish. And I felt (sorta) healthy, as tomato juice is chock full of vitamins!
Team Financefoodie’s Jessica happy as a clam (or should I say shrimp) with her bloody mary!
Another Team Financefoodie member Marico chatting with a friend and enjoying the view of Newbury Street. (I also ran into blogger friend Fun and Fearless in Beantown at this event - but didn't get a chance to snap a pic with her :(
They also had a few snacks for us including lobster wraps, shrimp salad sandwiches, clam chowder, and fried calamari. Guess they didn’t want us loose in the Back Bay drunk at noon.
Even though the nibbles were small, I became really full quickly [high protein content + liquids will do that to ya]. All and all, a very enjoyable afternoon – thanks again to CitySearch and Turner Fisheries for having Team Finance Foodie at the event!
