New Pantene Customized Solutions

By: Finance Foodie

When it comes to haircare, I'm about as low maintenance as it gets. In fact, I don't own blow-drier, my shampoo is usually whatever is on sale at the local drugstore (because I rather spend my money on food - or shoes) and that can of once-used Aqua- Net from high school prom (almost a decade ago) still remains tucked away like an old souvenir in my bathroom cabinet.

Luckily, since I inherited some great genes (thanks mom!), my hair has always been thick and lustrous even though I'm lazier than the Guadalupe River when it comes to the actual care (ducks as ladies chuck their $100 bottles of thickening / glossing / miracle agents at me). I would continue to milk this lucky break, but as I hit my elder years, so does my hair (and unlike wine, it does not get better with age).

A few days ago, I received a package from Proctor & Gamble, who makes Pantene Pro-V hair products, asking me to test drive their new line of Pantene Customized Solutions shampoo and conditioners. As one of their "Pantenologists", I got to conduct four customized tests to help me find out if my hair will be best treated with the medium-thick, fine, curly, or color collection of products.

4 Type of Hair - 4 Types of Products

FINE: Fine hair has up to 50% less protein. Pantene Fine Hair Solutions provide reinforcement to keep hair from falling flat to go from lifeless to light and bouncy.
MEDIUM-THICK: Thick hair absorbs up to 40% more moisture. Pantene Medium-Thick hair solutions offer options designed to make unruly hair shiny and manageable.
CURLY: Curly hair has a unique growth pattern — as it curls, the cuticle can weaken, leaving it rough and unruly. Pantene Curly Hair Series transform curly hair to help loosen or define curls, control frizz, and repair damage.
COLOR: Color-treated hair is changed at a structural level. Its natural protective layer is removed. This is one reason why over time, color may look dull. Pantene’s Color Preserve collections create a water-resistant layer to slow water absorption and leave color vibrant.

They even sent over a spiffy lab coat and lab glasses to make the whole process feel more scientific!

I took the test and it said I should use the medium-thick hair formula (thought this was pretty obvi though).

After a few shampoos with the new Pantene product, I honestly felt my hair looked healthier and shinier. But the best part was that the shampoo actually helped "de-tangle" the massive volume  - so my hair looked less Amy Winehouse and more Kim Kardashian in the morning! Super easy, affordable, and actually works - this definitely receives the Finance Foodie seal of approval!
